Teri Anderson

Candidate Statement:

"I believe Gillette College is an important asset in Campbell County and want to make it a vibrant, thriving institution of higher learning. In the 27 years I spent working at Gillette College as an instructor and administrator, I saw firsthand how educational opportunities guided by supportive professionals can change lives in amazing, positive ways.”

 

Top Priorities:

  • Help the College earn accreditation

  • Evaluate programs & changes to be made

  • Enzi Building additions

  • Spend tax monies responsibly

Experience:

  • Leadership training program

  • Governance Leadership Institute

  • Helped create Trustee Handbook for GCCD

  • Treasurer for church

  • Involved in Boys and Girls Scouts

Ellis Day

Candidate Statement:

​"It is vital that [tax] dollars are properly allocated to the programs that have and will strengthen industries vital to Campbell County today and in the future. In the mechanical industry, I have hired students from Gillette College [that] enter the workforce more well-trained and prepared to hit the ground running as welders and mechanics than any other school.”

  • Hire and retain knowledgeable and skilled instructors

  • Reduce students waiting time to enter programs like welding

Larry Smith

Candidate Statement:

​“I believe the Community Colleges are great economic investments for communities.  I have personally witnessed the benefits of having a community college locally and how it can change student lives.”

  • Make higher education accessible and affordable

  • Be fiscally responsible toward college decisions

  • Accreditation and becoming an independent college district

Candidate Statement:

“I am passionate about the College and the direction it is headed. I am for growth, not only as a community but as a college. I think we ALWAYS have to keep students first and GCCD will move in the right direction. We need to continue to have a balanced budget, looking at efficiencies to expand programs.”
